Finally, Helen "the National Treasure" Thomas said what she had on her mind throughout her long career as a member of the WH Press Corps:

Q: "Any comments on Israel?"
HT: "Tell them to get the hell out of Palestine. Remember, these people are occupied and it's their land. Not Germany. Not Poland."
Q: "Where Jews should go?"
HT: "They go home. Poland. Germany. And America and everywhere else."

or watch the video:

How long do you think Helen's or anyone else career would last if a similar remarks would have been directed to any other ethnic or racial group? Yet, when it comes to Israel or Jews one's career is not at risk - a simple "sorry" would suffice. I bet Helen would continue attending WH presidential briefings without any fear of being ostracized by her colleagues. Apparently liberal media didn't find Helen's "slip of the tongue" outrages since not a single article appeared to cover this story in any major US newspaper including the NYT. If that is not an example of double standards, than what is?

Recent events with "Peace Flotilla" and the US media coverage of them brought plenty more examples of such double standards. For example, none of US newspapers mentioned that "Free-Gaza-Flotilla" activists rejected the Shalit family's plea to deliver a letter to their kidnapped son Gilad Shalit. Neither did they mention the recording of conversation between IDF and Flotilla where these, so called "humanitarians"
were telling IDF soldiers to "Go back to Auschwitz" and that they are "helping Arabs go against the U.S., don't forget 9/11.". And so on...

Only (the publication that some of my liberal friends view as too conservative to consider as worthy news source), published the quote about Flotilla by Sheikh Hussein Bin Mahmud:
"Gaza Does Not Want Freedom Flotillas with Blonde Women – It Wants Black Islamic Banners of Jihad; Hitler Left Some Jews Alive So the World Could See Why He Killed the Rest; 'Gaza… Is Thirsty and Wants to Drink the Blood of the Sons of Apes and Pigs'"

On the other hand liberal media is filled with articles questioning Israel's right to blockade Gaza and articles titled like "Washington Asks: What to Do About Israel?" The way things are developing, I wouldn't be surprised if in the near future we will see articles titled: "What to Do About Jews?"

take a careful look into Helen Thomas eyes, my friend: her soul have left the body a long-long-long time ago...

and those newspapers on the left have never possessed any soul whatsoever - they would print any garbage fit to print.

it is NOT important to argue with with those who hate you.
it is important TO DO what's necessary to assure your victory.

All true, Arthur, and I don't entertain any hope changing their crooked minds. It's definitely useless and thankless job. But one thing I'm certain about - maintaining silence is like giving US media (first and foremost the New York Times) a green light to continue practicing double standards toward Israel and the Jews. The Times regards itself as a defender of all minorities. It is ready to attack even slightest prejudice against blacks, women or Muslims. Yet it maintains total silence when dealing with acts of open antisemitism like in the case of Helen Thomas.

Я тебе больше скажу, - во время войны те же NY Times публиковали крошечные сообщения о жертвах газенвагена на задних страницах в Classified section, и эти ужасы have never made it to the front page and have never caught the attention of the public...

Wall Street Journal and Investors Business Daily. :)
